Arrival and Dismissal
Bus-riders
Students enter the school at 7:45 each morning. Afternoon dismissal consists of a first bus call at approximately 2:45 and a second bus call just before 3:00. These times can vary especially during the first few weeks of school.
Car-riders
Morning car-rider drop off is from 7:45 to 8:15 in car-rider lane. Please arrive between 7:40 and 8:00 to ensure that your child arrives in homeroom before morning announcements begin. After 8:15, students must be checked in by a parent/guardian.
Parents may not drop off students at the front entrance. Afternoon car-rider pick-up begins at 2:45.
Walkers
Parents may walk students to school from their home. Parents may not park at the school for the purpose of their child being a walker. Walkers are dismissed at 2:40.
During the School Day
Late Check-in
Students who arrive after 8:15 must be checked in by their parent and will be marked tardy.
Early Checkout
If you need to checkout your child early, please do so by 2:15. ID is required to check out your child.
Student Technology & Personal Devices
Students are not allowed to use or wear personal devices (cell phones, laptops, smartwatches, tablets, etc.) while on school premises or on the school bus. A student may bring a cellphone to school, but it must remain turned off in their bookbags during the school day and when they are on the bus. We understand that some may need it for arrival at home after-school. However, the school cannot be responsible for your child's cellphone or personal devices. Thank you for your support.
Parent Visitors
For safety and security purposes, all visitors must sign-in at the welcome desk. Parents are not permitted to walk their child to the classroom without a scheduled appointment.
Joining your child for lunch
Parents may have lunch with their child beginning on Wednesday, Aug. 20th. Please sit with your child at the parent/visitor tables in the café. Other students may not join you and your child. Thank you for your understanding.
Ice Cream
Students may purchase individual ice cream items for $1.00 on Fridays. Ice cream sales will begin on Friday, Aug. 22.
Parties & Birthdays
Suwanee Elementary students will have two celebrations per year. A winter party and an end of year party. Individual student birthday parties are prohibited. Please do not send goodie bags, balloons, or flowers, etc., as they cannot be delivered to your child at school or taken home on the bus. For birthdays, parents may purchase ice cream for the entire class at the lower cost of $1 per student. Parents can also send in a treat like cookies or donuts to be shared at lunchtime. Please avoid sheet cakes or huge cupcakes
If you would like to arrange with the teacher to place party invitations in classmates Friday folders, this can occur ONLY if every student in the class is invited or all girls or all boys. Please do not ask teachers to print invitations or discuss the birthday party details with the class. Thank you for your support.
